About Me

Giving you a summary about yours truly.

Yours Truly.

[I shall now write about myself in the third person.  If you find it strange, as do I, that some maintain this practice, principally among the authors of fiction and nonfiction of planet Earth, then simply know that I am merely keeping with custom.  And, yes, it is rather silly.]

The Educational Accomplishments

Travis Ray Garner has not one but two Associate degrees from a California community college:  (1) an Associate of Arts degree; and (2) an Associate of Science degree.

He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in the English language from the California State University system.

Finally, he has a Juris Doctor degree.  However, for the sake of his sanity, he has chosen, in what remains of his life, never to become an attorney-at-law because the late Mark Twain was correct when he wrote this maxim in his book entitled Following the Equator:

“To succeed in other trades, capacity must be shown; in the law, concealment of it will do.”

The Journalistic Achievements

In the Republic of the United States of America, journalism is a constitutional right, one in which any American citizen can participate.  Thus, it seems that the best route to take, these days, is for an American journalist to maintain a personal website.  Therefore, Travis Ray Garner has decided that a portion of the Cuppa Travis Tea website shall stand as a reflection of his journalistic activities.

To date, however, Travis Ray Garner has not produced a paid submission to any periodical.  As a result, he believes not only that the citizenry of the Republic of the United States of America (and the citizenry of all other nations on planet Earth) suffers but also so do his bank accounts.

Recently, when asked to comment about this journalistic project, Travis Ray Garner said:

“Look:  You know, I wish that I had the resources of some magazines or newspapers, but I don’t.

“I mean, do I wish that I could get paid to write a piece of prose?  Of course.

“I mean, do I wish that I could split the work in a piece of prose among five other journalists?  Not so much.

“I mean, do I wish that folks who ask a series of closed questions, as if they were lawyers during the cross-examination of a witness either in a deposition or in a courtroom, would ask open questions instead because closed questions, more times than not, are nothing more than the weapon of the bully?  You bet.”

The Artistic Attainments

This topic is confidential.

It is also a work in progress.

Suffice it to say, Travis Ray Garner would like all members of the human race to know that—in the days, weeks, months, and years to come—essays, novellas, novels, open letters, podcasts, and short stories shall be available for conspicuous consumption.

So:  Stay tuned to the Cuppa Travis Tea website for future authorial announcements.

Last but not least, I thank you very much, both for your time and for your consideration.

As always, yours in service,

Travis Ray Garner
